Face shape/Frame shape

What face shape are you? How do you know what
shape eyewear will suit you? How do you know
what size to order?
There are four basic face shapes - oval, round,
square and triangular. All "face shapes" vary
in contour and size.
The frame shape needs to contrast with your
face shape. The frame size should "fit your face"
and the colour should complement your skin tone.

Oval Faces
Most eyewear frame shapes suit an oval shaped face as the features are generally in proportion. The important factor is choosing a frame size that fits your face.
Round Faces
Narrow angular shaped frames suit the round face as this provides a contrasting shape and makes the face appear thinner and longer. Rectangular shaped frames with no rim or half rim's are ideal. A light bridge ensures the face is not shortened by being cut in half.
Square Faces
Slightly curved frames suit square faces best, as do narrow frames that sit wide on the face. As the square face usually has a broad forehead and strong chin the glasses need to provide elongation to the face. Frame size is important with a square face - not too big and not too small.
Triangular Faces
Eyewear Frame Sizes
Check on the inside arm of your current frame. You will see a number, i.e. 48-18-130. These measurements relate to (48) the width of the lens; (18) the width of the bridge and (130) the length of the arm.
You will notice that the description of the eyewear frame will include details of the dimensions of the frame. Frame sizes vary. Children's faces are smaller than adults and people have different shaped faces. The dimensions will help you choose a size that fits you snugly. All eyewear frames listed on www.ezychoice.com include an indication of the frame size, i.e. small, medium or large.
How do I know what frame size will fit me?
If you are buying your first pair of glasses via the internet you have three choices. First you can ask a friend who wears eye glasses if you can try their glasses for size; or you can take rough measurements yourself; or lastly you can dash to a local eyewear store and try some on for size. Make sure you note the numbers on the inside arm of the frame.
If you already wear glasses just look on the inside arm of the frame for the dimensions of your current glasses.
If you purchase a pair of eye glasses via the internet and they are loose when you try them on, visit your Optician who can easily adjust the frame. There may be a small fee involved for the adjustment.
